History
In spite of the fact that the first sheep were domesticated more than 8 thousand years B.C., appearance of meat sheep was conditioned by more late social and economical reasons. Breed of fast-maturing meat sheep was forming only in XVIII-XIX cent., after development of capitalism. At the beginning all domestic sheep were coarse-wooled. Later, after soft-wooled sheep already appeared, they were being mixed among each other; in such a way a new breed of half thin-wooled and half coarse-wooled sheep appeared. England is a native land of half thin-wooled meat sheep. Here in XVIII-XIX cent. 30 species of fast-maturing meat sheep were breeded.
